On 9 July 2026, the 5th CIS Islamic Banking and Finance Forum was held in Tashkent. The event was organised by the AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics – AlHuda CIBE. During the forum, Asaxiy Invest received the “Best Islamic Investment Platform” award.
Islamic finance industry leaders gathered in Tashkent
The international forum was held at Hyatt Regency Tashkent and brought together representatives of government and regulatory institutions, diplomats, central bankers, Islamic financial institutions, investors, Shariah scholars, Takaful operators, FinTech companies, academics and industry professionals from CIS countries and beyond.
The event focused on the future development of Islamic banking and finance in the region, the exchange of international expertise and stronger cooperation between governments, financial institutions, investors and international development organisations.
The forum was opened by Muhammad Zubair Mughal, Chief Executive Officer of AlHuda CIBE. In his welcome address, he highlighted the growing potential of the CIS region as an emerging centre for Islamic finance.
He noted that stronger cooperation between governments, regulators, financial institutions, investors and international partners is essential for building a resilient Islamic finance ecosystem capable of supporting sustainable economic growth and greater financial inclusion.

During the technical sessions and panel discussions, participants examined the legal, institutional, educational and technological conditions required for the continued development of Islamic finance across the CIS region.

A dedicated panel discussion focused on the strategic role of Islamic finance and the Takaful industry in attracting foreign investment. Participants discussed financial innovation, support for entrepreneurship, stronger regional cooperation and sustainable economic development.
During the innovation session, experts explored the growing role of Islamic FinTech, blockchain, digital compliance and technology-driven financial solutions in expanding access to financial services and supporting sustainable infrastructure development.
